I had the absolute pleasure of completing a 1-month stay at Southwest Philadelphia property of Charles Bennett Jr. He was kind enough to give me a tour of the home and all included amenities upon my arrival, making himself available via text/phone call to both myself and the other visiting medical student throughout the duration of our stay. The home is clean, well-decorated, and includes all you could need for a long-term stay. The master bedroom is beautiful, with a cozy queen-sized bed, spacious closet for luggage, flat-screen television, and an individual A/C unit which can be adjusted to your liking. The neighborhood is relatively safe, and nearby street parking is always free and available regardless of time, particularly for medical students who must arrive at the hospital early and often leave late in the evening. It is about a 10-12 minute drive via personal car from the Hospital of Pennsylvania (HUP) on 3400 Spruce Street located downtown, and for students who prefer public transportation, there is an easily accessible trolley located a 5-10 minute walk from the home that can be used throughout the week. Pricing of the room was reasonable and comparable to other properties nearby, and Charles was highly responsive to any questions or concerns I had throughout my stay. If in the area again, I would be more than happy to book another stay. I highly recommend this property to any visiting medical students who are rotating at Penn or nearby institutions/hospitals for a comfortable and positive stay while in the Philadelphia area.
